To My Elsewhere

You like it at a distance, don't you!
Some occasional and casual contact
to prove our friendship a fact,
but also to keep the rest intact.
It's okay, it's fine, no really — I'm ok.
There's nothing concrete about this anyway,
you can't claim it or buy it — how absurd.

With the same sunshine and moisture
some fruits ripen
others still sport
their glistening green jackets
after all
jewels keep better in safes,
bread in the box, and fruit in the fridge.

May your magnetic forces be surrounded
with equal charges,
while I'll be a counter force elsewhere.
